Multi-Effective Evaporation technology is preferred due to its energy efficiency. The process is designed so that there is a pressure gradient across the entire evaporation system to allow the energy in the system to be reused.

In Multi-Effective Evaporation technology, the steam economy of the system varies linearly with the amount of effects used in the evaporation process design. Due to process limitations, multi-effects designs are typically limited to around 6 effects. The number of effects is limited by the total available temperature difference between plant steam and cooling water temperature. Solutions with high boiling point elevations typically operate with less efficiency.

Advantages:

  • Low steam usage
  • Suitable for many different types of evaporation
  • Simple and Flexible working
  • Ease of maintenance
